Who We Are
Baker Prevention Coalition Incorporated (BPCI) is a non-profit community-based anti-drug prevention coalition serving Baker County, Florida. The coalition began in 2010 as a subcommittee of the Baker County Health Department’s nonprofit organization, Healthy Baker, Inc. On April 15th, 2013, the coalition officially incorporated to become Baker Prevention Coalition Incorporated (BPCI) and had gained knowledge on coalition building activities, leadership development, and the 7 strategies for community change.
About the Coalition
A coalition is made up of a board, staff, and coalition members. Collectively this includes a 6Â person volunteer board, 2 staffed employees, and a group of coalition members. These three groups of individuals meet on a monthly basis at our local health department to discuss the local need, upcoming events, and more. The coalition members can be broken down into 12 sectors.
The sectors include: Youth (persons under 18 years of age), Parents, Business community, Media, Schools, Youth-serving organizations, Law enforcement agencies, Religious or fraternal organizations, Healthcare professionals, State, local or tribal agencies with expertise in the field of substance abuse, Civic and volunteer groups, and Other organizations.
